Barbara Grover is an internationally published freelance photographer, documentarian, and communications strategist.  With decades of experience as political consultant and visual storyteller, her work combines words and images that inform, advocate and empower. 

From single-image editorial work and multi-media shorts published in prestigious media outlets such as Time Magazine, CNN and Marie Claire, to conceiving and executing strong visual and strategic communication campaigns to affect social change, Barbara brings a collaborative spirit and unique skill set to her clients and subjects alike. Her passion for distilling complex issues, empowers community stakeholders and influences decision-makers both locally and internationally.

Based in her native Los Angeles, Barbara’s work has been used by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, the U.S. Congress and as evidence against “dirty cops” in the Los Angeles Police Department Rampart Scandal. She has exhibited internationally in solo and group shows including the Fotofest, Houston, the Saint-Etienne Biennale and Soleil Juane, Paris. Her political clients have served in the United States Congress, California State Legislature and in local government.

Current ongoing projects include WeHo Stories – and oral history on the city of West Hollywood – and This is Hunger (TIH), commissioned by the national anti-hunger organization MAZON, exposes hunger throughout America – including in the military. The centerpiece of TIH, is an experiential public awareness campaign about hunger in America that is housed in a big rig truck. It is visiting over 25 metro areas throughout the country, including Central Park, New York.
